The following was brought to my attention by Franklin Ruona of the Tamalpa Running Club,
"I coach a running club at San Quentin Prison, the San Quentin 1000 Mile Running Club. A filmmaker from Southern California wants to do a documentary on the club and the inmates training for the marathon we run next November. She's very professional and wants to tell the story of how running and training for a marathon helps these men cope with life in prison and feel better about themselves.
The link below has a short video which you can watch and there's also a write up with pictures and profiles of the club members who will be featured and their stories. It's a Kickstarter with a fairly modest goal but the main reason I'm sharing this with you is so you can see what it's all about and why it's been such a rewarding experience for me.
Thanks and feel free to pass along or share with anyone who might be interested.
